Riverside County Superintendent of Schools

Welcome to the Riverside County Office of Education’s Web site.  As the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, I invite you to explore our Web site to learn more about the wide range of educational and administrative support services we provide to the 23 school districts and the 431,000 students living in Riverside County.

County Superintendents of Schools serve as intermediaries between the California Department of Education and local school districts.  They also work with the U.S. Department of Education to provide services and resources to school districts, students and families. In collaboration with the County Board of Education, some of the ways the Riverside County Office of Education assists districts in ensuring the success of all students is through the implementation of high quality educational programs; providing mandated oversight and training for school districts in the areas of finances, teacher credentialing, and various aspects of curriculum and instruction; and providing extensive training and support to new teachers.

The Riverside County Office of Education also strives to meet the specialized needs of over 35,000 students through the unique programs we operate directly, including Special Education for the severely handicapped, Head Start, Migrant Education, Alternative Education through independent study, Community Schools and Juvenile Court Schools, and through the latest Career Technical Education (CTE) programs.  In addition, the Riverside County Office of Education administers a broad range of state and federally funded grant programs and services designed to ensure student success throughout the county.

We hope the information you find on our Web site will help you see that our focus is on the success of all students as we assist and support school districts, children, families, and the community. We are dedicated to serving the public in extraordinary ways─ that is the number one goal of every employee at RCOE.
