photo of students with their History Day medals More than 300 students participated in the 22nd Annual Riverside County History Day at Poly High School in Riverside on March 21, 2004. Students ranging from fourth graders to high school seniors performed, made posters, wrote papers, and prepared exhibits. Subjects ranged from the Hitler Youth and the Irish Potato Famine to Rosa Parks. The competition requires students to research topics and report findings. Winners in both team and individual categories moved on to the state competition last May.

Visit www.rcoe.k12.ca.us for a complete list of winners and www.rcoe.k12.ca.us/historyday for information and rules for this year’s competition scheduled for March 19.
