Western Municipal Water District donates to Solar Cup project at Jurupa Community School
Students at the Jurupa Community School will compete for the first time in Solar Cup 2012, a solar powered boat competition sponsored by the Western Municipal Water District at Lake Skinner since 2002. More than 800 students and 42 high schools will compete this year. WMWD today (January 18, 2012) donated $4,000 to give the new team a start in the competition.
Schools must build boats and equip them with solar panels to compete.
