Come Back Kids dropout program gains statewide recognition for excellence

Come Back Kids, a program initiated two years ago by Riverside County Superintendent of Schools Kenneth M. Young to help reduce the county’s dropout rate, has been recognized as an exemplary program by a statewide education group.

The program was reviewed by the Educational Options Best Practices Demonstration Project, a joint effort of the California Department of Education (Educational Options Office), San Diego County Office of Education, and the El Dorado County Office of Education formed to highlight best practices in Court, Community, Community Day Schools, and other alternative education programs throughout California.
